Survival Of The Fittest

Client: Total Energies Mnandikona Tshisa Nyama

Location: Total Energies Bramfischer Drive on Jan Smuts

Design: External restaurant seating area, parking bay redesign and three story building face lift.

The Mnandikona project inside of Total Energies filling station was a test to our architecture knowledge. The space boasts of 4035 SQM. This is by far the largest space we got to work on. Due to the size of the building the project has been broken up in phases, thus, introducing to you the external seating area.

We created the perfect outdoor setting by offering a combination of nature and modern day lighting. The outdoor nature vibe comes from the natural woods, the raw metal and the plants perfectly placed around the space. The lighting further adds a modern twist, we played around with LED lighting and custom pendants that offer a natural, rustic, industrial look.

The accessive use of the orange furniture communicates with the brand's CI and creates a sense of recognition. I would say the focal point is the wash hand area where a lot of texture is present. This space boasts of huge and stunnning concrete hand-made basins which are wall hung to a beatifully finished plastered wall.

Have a look below to see how the space has been transformed:
